Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz Confident He Can Finish Frampton Off

WBC world super-bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz has set his sights on Belfast's unbeaten Carl Frampton after impressively defending his title last weekend.

The Mexican sensation was too good for Cristian Mijares in Las Vegas as he won emphatically on points, and if 27-year-old Frampton (17-0 12KOs) can see off Hugo Cazares at the Odyssey Arena on April 4 then a meeting between the two super-bantamweights is on the cards.

Tired of fighters trying to fool the fans. If you really want the fight then push your promoter and advisor al haymon or come out and say they don't want that fight for you yet instead of fooling the fans.

But I truly believe he's gonna fight rigo soon. There's a reason he fought two southpaws in his last two fights

Frampton may win this one, because he is a jack of all trades. Santa Cruz is wrong: the Irish can be a brawler or a slick boxer. He is versatile. Santa Cruz has problems with pure boxers. Cesar Seda or Alberto Guevara aren't elite contenders, and they both gave him problems. Frampton should box, backpedal and counter the Mexican, as he did with Kiko Martinez.

Rigo in a Miami Herald interview said he didn't believe Santa Cruz really will fight after Rigo be free in a couple of months. Is a pettern of protectionism by the promoters against any fighter able to win his pupil. . Is a manipulation and a bunch of cowards duckers

Nice - this is the most entertaining fight that can be made in the division in my opinion. Matching #2 vs #3. Personally I couldn't care less about Rigo's interests and his chess match style, even if the boxing cold war wasn't an issue I'd much rather see these two dudes throw down in a fun fan friendly fight.

this is a good fight that I hope is put on the floyd Sept card, hopefully in the semi main, so the winner gets maximum exsposure.

Santa Cruz wins and Rigo leaves TR and they can fight in 2015.

Golden Boy + Top Rank= No fight. This is out of the fighters hands now. They can push all they want but if the promotions won't work together its not gonna happen. The only disgrace right now are fans who talk bad about people who are world class and humble like Santa Cruz. Judging by your post history you are a Cuban fan who is biased and blames everything on non Cuban fighters.

Part I.For your knowledge. Rigo will be free of Arum in a couple of months. His next fight will be the last one under Arum. So they can make the fight that is the best now in 122.
