WTF...I've been saying all along that the opponent most people want to see Mikey fight is Gamboa. There might be "worthier" opponents, but Yuri is the most exciting and best known option. The Garcias actually think Mikey's a star? lol He gets some love because of his built-in fanbase, but that's about it. Gamboa is bordering on irrelevancy and still people want to see him fight. Certainly HBO does.

Perhaps this was necessary to spark that fire in Gamboa once again. He has looked uninterested in his last couple of fights. The lack of money for this one will make him come that much stronger , focused and hungry into this fight to get bigger paydays. Not to mention he doesn't like Garcia.

I like how the Cubana conveniently left out the Steve Kim tweet that came before the one she posted on here. It says: "What Im hearing is that Mikey Garcia isn't happy with the $$ HBO is offering for a Gamboa fight. Also, another issue is that... #boxing"

Sounds like maybe Mikey would only be making around the same amount of money he's been making his last few fights. People are making Gamboa out to be Garcia's biggest fight of his career, so don't you think a raise in pay should come with that?

Don't know, and really don't care. I just want the fight to get done so Garcia could put Gamboa on his a$$ and into obscurity.

Man if this is true they are an embarrassment. We definitely need to hear more about this from them.

They need to speak the hell up, because this isn't looking good for them. I don't know, maybe Gamboa's crazy enough to go on TV and make claims about taking 500k, but I don't think so. And is Steve Kim in on the conspiracy? He tweeted that the Garcias aren't happy with HBO's attitude. It's disgraceful if this fight doesn't get made. There's no real reason why it shouldn't.
