I understand that, man. But Gamboa, as one of the principles, is obviously privy to the state of the negotiations. Agreed? He has consistently put out the 500k figure. I have to believe that's a very real number. The total purse might well have been a million, or thereabouts. It's entirely conceivable that that was what Arum was referring to when the said, "Why should he (Gamboa) be getting as much money as Garcia?"



I'd love to believe that, but Arum seemed pretty firm in his comments. If there's any hope, we'll know soon enough.

We don't know that, not all fighters know what they make, take it from me. They hire these people to get the most money they can, then people get in their ears and tell them they can get them more and that's how they get poached.

I think the fight will be made eventually but I have a feeling they are trying to build it up. Mikey is a rising star, regardless of what people think. He maynot be headlining his own PPV but I think they want him and Gamboa to be a bigger fight than just some fight on Showtime on a Saturday night.

They might want to will it under a bigger PPV, really get them in a better position. At this point we dont' know but Gamboa is in no position to negotiate. He's desperately trying to get Mikey to fight him because he want's the belt, recognition and get his name back out there.

I hope you're right. And I agree that Gamboa needed this. His career is on life-support due to his own terrible decisions. He really needs to get active and sharpen-up. As much as I wanted to see a Garcia fight, that was a huge step up from Yuri's recent comp. Let's hope there are a few highly-anticipated fights this year, bro; we've already had one shot down, at least for the time being.
