No announcement yet.
If Floyd did what Canelo did to Lara, you would say Floyd is ducking Lara.

Said Lara is good and think he is good. What i meant by that statement was when Canelo fights him and beats him there will be another that you boys will say he is ducking. Such is the pattern of NSB. You should know that your in the heart of it

So exactly how does that work?
Floyd was open to fighting Margarito back in 2006 - and this is a matter of public record. Arum wanted Mayweather to resign with TR as a condition for the Margarito fight. Mayweather wanted the de la Hoya fight and elected to buy out his contract with TR, fight Baldomir for the LINEAR 147lb title, then set the PPV record in a fight with de la Hoya. Resigning with TR would have meant the de al Hoya fight would have *never* happened. Arum is on record saying he wanted NO part of a de la Hoya Mayweather fight.
So, anyone who subscribes to the notion that Mayweather "ducked" Margarito is full of **** seeing as Floyd fought a more dangerous fighter in de la Hoya @ 154lbs the very next year.
De la Hoya was coming off of an impressive 6 round KO victory over Ricardo Mayorga - a guy who held two wins over Vernon Forrest and would have mopped the floor with Margarito. Bricks or no....

Floyd should have fought Margarito.
High risk not so high reward but he should have taken the fight.
