Gamboa is not taking his career seriously. He isn't active enough and wants the big fights without earning them.

We don't need to like each other in boxing. We have a rivalry that will be increasing when more Cubans are coming to fight and they have to make their place left for almost 55 years. But it has nothing to do in other areas besides the boxing.
With Gamboa they are coming with the third excuse. Last time against Rios they did the same offering a lower purse and proof of that is later they were willing to raise his purse but Gamboa had made anothers arragements and were too late. Now is the same but this time Gamboa doen;t have others arragements and his situation with 50 is worst than 2 years ago. He should accept and rise his name again winning this slow fighter.

I'm sure if you ask Gamboa his side of the story, he'll have something to support his case. We don't have any solid facts or numbers to consider, nor do we know if they'd be true. All I know is, Yuri better not let this opportunity slip through his fingers. It's difficult enough being a fan of his, what with all the bonehead moves he's made in the last couple of years.
