Again...why should I believe Gamboa over Garcia? The only way I might be convinced of either side is if they sat down on camera together and explained their side of the story. This Twitter back-and-forth BS means nothing to me.

I don't doubt that for a second. Gamboa shot himself in the foot with that Rios debacle and nearly buried his career for good. I think it's about more than a payday with Yuri. He needs this fight badly, to bring him back into the limelight. His shelf-life will come due all too soon. Unless Gamboa does something quick, he'll be completely gone from the scene in a couple of years. Sad, but he would have no one to blame but himself.

It's ALL about the money with him,. He's had legal issues, and money issues with his wife I believe. From everything I hear and the people I talk to, they say the same things about him. That he walks around talking as if he's Floyd Mayweather, that he deserves that type of money and recognition.

I'm not exaggerating either. I feel Gamboa is a tremendous talent, I really do. I would love to see a fight between him and Mikey, but I thik Gamboa needs to clean up his own **** and realize he's going about this all wrong.

50 cent I also think was a bad choice. He's not a boxing promoter, he doesn't know the boxing biz like other promoters and thinks he can just cash out Gamboa in one fight. He should have kept him active and set him up with some tv time to build him back up, instead he thinks he has an ace in the hole with Gamboa.

The problem with Gamboa is he's heard saying one thing and then doing something else. Just look at the problems he's had with he's different promoters, walking out on the Rios fight once he agreed to the fight, leaving top rank signing with 50 only to be forced to work with top rank again.

I don't see why Mickey would lie. If they didn't want to make the fight, Arum could just use the excuses that he doesn't want to work with Gamboa because of their history. They could move him right on to the next fight. Instead they want to make the fight for June.

Dude, Gamboa has said so much bullsheite during his career it's hard to believe anything he says. Remember he said he wanted Rios, the fight was agreed to and he walked out at the last minute?

What is happening is Mikey wants a bigger cut than what Gamboa is willing to take. Mikey has the leverage and Gamboa needs Mikey, not the other way around.

You do realize fighters don't do their own business right? It's the reason they have managers, and promoters.

Not sure on the math (lol), but I agree that "50% more" claim seems very hard to believe. Two things: 1. Like I said before, people are capable of anything; 2. Why would Garcia make such a claim about such an outrageous Gamboa demand? I don't take anything these guys say at face value.

Yeah I ****ed up lol it would more like 1.2M/800k in favor of Gamboa.

There was clearly some strife that caused this whole 50 cent situation. Yuri was forced to choose sides between Mayweather and Jackson. Neither choice was very good. "Fitty" was probably the worst option.

Anyway...here we are. It would be a shame if the fans didn't get this fight.
