The World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (34-2-1, 12KOs) is once again looking to test the waters at 122-pounds, and this time he wants to face the current WBC champion Leo "Terremoto" Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15KOs), who won lopsided twelve round unanimous decision over Cristian Mijares this past Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Moreno didn't look strong in his last trip at 122. He boxed well and it was a closer fight than the judges had it but was getting bullied around and didn't have enough pop to keep Mares off of him. And Santa Cruz is bigger and stronger than Mares.

Not in love with this one. At one time, it looked like Chemito might have an elite skill set. But Mares exposed him a bit. He's a very good defensive fighter, and one that I enjoy watching. But not good enough to overcome bigger, stronger foes. Especially one that will pressure him relentlessly. If it happens, fine. I'll never complain about two good fighters being matched up. But if Chemito wins, all it means is that Santa Cruz isn't great. If Santa Cruz wins, Mares already popped the cherry on that one. So it will be kinda like sowhat.

But Santa Cruz wouldn't bully like Mares did. Mares literally ran in like a bull and threw Moreno around, fighting dirty. Santa Cruz is a pressure fighter, but not that kind of pressure fighter.

This would be a good win if Santa Cruz pulled it off convincingly.

Santa Cruz UD. Moreno does not have the power to keep santa cruz from swarming him. It would play out just like the mares fight except santa cruz has a better engine than mares.
