I read these kind of threads and I wonder if people have followed Angulo's career. I'm a Perro fan and coming into this fight I knew damn well the type of chances we had. Angulo is slow / sluggish and throws stiff punches... very one dimensional. But he is a threat due to his constant pressure and power. Only thing I was counting on was Angulo catching Canelo with something dumb and hurting him badly.

Take a look at the Lara fight and you will notice it is the same Angulo. Difference is Lara runs / retreats and Angulo was able to throw without getting fast combinations thrown back. Lara would throw a jab and 1 or 2 punches and then proceed to change direction and move and it was during that transition that Angulo caught Lara.

Canelo used his offense to keep Angulo hesitant. And when went toe to toe, he would keep a firm guard up which Angulo couldn't punch thru or around. Canelo's fast powerful combinations kept the dog tamed.

Then that's on angulo for not being in shape... Did he not just fight at the same exact weight months ago vs Lara, and angulo has always campaigned at 154..

He looked just like he did vs cintron, or margs vs Shane... Pressure guys like that need to break a sweat and catch rhythm but canelo or cintron never let angulo get on track, much like how Shane just bombed on margs as he walked in, margs could never recover

I'm just saying he looked like crap and it is totally on him for not being in shape. I knew Canelo would beat him up but as for people wondering why there was no power on his punches, he was drained and saw how powerful Canelo was from the git. Canelo looked like he outweighed Angulo by a few pounds when he was the one being outweighed.

Excuses and conspiracy theories everywhere after a dominant victory! Canelos made it!

                    Boxing is a corrupt sport.

Canelo is a star in need of a spectacular win.

Angulo is a terrible actor who thought winging punches from the opening bell would convince people that Canelo is a tremendous fighter who cripples guys with one punch. Which I find to be comedy since Josesito Lopez, a career LW, took a hell of a beating and still put more hurt into his punches than Angulo did over the entirety of 10 rounds.

Just a poor job all over, especially by Tony Weeks who made a suspect fight even more suspect with his very awkward stoppage.
