It seems like Floyd Mayweather Sr. is pointing out some of the things being brought up here.

How many times has Angulo been knocked out before this fight? Ever consider he just can't get off anymore.

Canelo is a murderously sharp body puncher, thats always been what he is best at. He can whip that shot down to the body in the middle of combinations where most people don't expect it.

People ooooo and ahhhh the shots he was throwing up stairs, but the shots he was hitting Angulo down stairs with were far more brutal. You could see him cringe with his eyes every time Canelo hit him down there. The only time he mounted any offense was when Canelo started boxing and stopped punishing his body. As soon as Canelo went back to the body he shut down again.

It is an aspect of the sport that you can't appreciate unless you have been in the ring. Its a sharp pain that surprises you when you aren't expecting it, and sticks with you, and all you can do is think about not getting hit there again until it goes away. It didn't go away for Angulo.

I was watching Lara vs Angulo earlier today for the first time.

Angulo looked just as slow and lethargic vs Lara too, so all this talk of Angulo holding back and throwing the fight vs Canelo comes as a huge surprise to me

virgil hunter ****ed up his style, tried to make him techincal without embracing his rawness.

virgil sucks, he ruined angulo, ruined berto, ruined khan (he made him worse then he was) and only claim is ward but guess what ward would have been great with any fighter he just naturally gifted.

but truth is canelo is just a beast.

No one can beat him at that divison.

Angulo just seemed sapped of energy straight away, I mean that's because straight away Canelo was landing hooks to his face and body - and this continued almost non stop through the first two rounds which is why Angulo could never get off and by the time Canelo began taking things slightly easier Angulo had just taken too much damage.

              Canelo was a beast tonight.

Alvarez just put a world of hurt on Angulo from the first round. All those shots landing were hurtful , power shots. The body shots from the get go were hurting and slowing Angulo down. Seems like everytime Canelo hit him, he zapped him of his energy.

I agree. I really expected Angulo to be able to pull the trigger more but Canelo was too fast strong and sharp for him
