Gary russell has talent is what should be said, no one on here knows if he can fight because he has not fought anyone of note and in a minute it will begin to backfire on him and his team. Mares was right he is a tba fighter . There is so much more that goes into a fighter beyond skills . We do not know what his heart is about? What about adjustments can he make those. What about if he gets hurt? What kind of adversity has he gone through etc.. stop anointing these cats without letting them prove themselves. Russel jr. Will probably fight a couple more bums, diss some more proven fighters in his weightclass, talk about sparring his brothers and yadq yada yada..

The last person who should be coming out of Abner Mares mouth is Gary Russell. Last time I checked Russell was a Golden Boy fighter and so is Mares. Not Lomachenko, and I don't think Mares wants Gary Russell problems.

Mares is right, but he should keep Russell's name out of his mouth unless he wants to be a stepping stone. Mares is not exactly the cream of the crop

Would he turn down the fight? Who knows how much he's getting paid fighting these TBA's. If it's good money he might jump on it right away.

As I've said before he looks talented, but anyone can look talented going up against no.100 ranked fighters like Gusev and Miguel Tomato (Tomayo).

I mean Lomachenko would look like a beast if he kept fighting fighters at the same level as Ramirez.

Are they really going to put Lomachenko up against someone like Russell again after they put him in to son against Salido? The definition of a true idiot is the man who doesnt learn from mistakes. Let him fight a couple of hardchined survivors over 12 rounds so he learns how to fight a 12 round fight.
