The richer fighter can just pay some money and not come in at the weight limit?

Really makes a mockery of the sport imo.

Have some damn professionalism... if you are going to miss the contracted weight you should shred down and put yourself at a disadvantage like fighters have for decades

Your talking about a guy that won his first "title" at JMW by fighting an unranked WW at a catchweight and didn't even make the weight himself. Then he defended his title several times against....well........welterweights. And then he finally fought a ranked JMW, in Texas, with open scoring with scorecards that were filled out before the opening bell rang. Then he got the biggest payday of his life in a fight where he lost every single round.

So yeah, this just adds to the continuing list of bull**** that has been going on with a certain fighter in this sport for years.

Hey, his brother used to be a multiple world champion and best in his weight class... so some of that probably trickled down to Matt and he deserved that title shot

very true but its not even just Canelo though. Look at Chavez Jr, Salido, Mayweather (vs Marquez) off the top of my head. The weight classes are there for fighters safety ffs

They get to you eventually....look at Escobedo. Broner missed it twice and they were on hands and knees so to make him go through with the fight

                  How can you though?

Angulo has already put himself through hell for the fight, paid for trainers, managers etc... What choice does he have other than to take the money and go ahead.

Fair enough its only 1lb this time, but what about 2lbs or 4lbs etc. ******
