He never said he could have beat the count. He is not hard to hit and doesn't take a punch very well. He may knock out some guys but I don't think he will ever be a champ again. Unless he needs the money he should retire because if he fights high level guys he will get knocked out a few more times.

The look he gave when the interview advised him there was one second left in the round was the same look you give someone when you know something already but trying to act like you are hearing it for the first time. He didn't admit to quitting but i think he just took the fight expecting an easier fight and to get a pay day

Can't honestly say I agree, because it wasn't me getting clocked. After missing with a big left hook, Ortiz got stunned with a counter right hook. He turned away from the momentum of trying to throw a right of his own. He was then hit a couple of more times on the top of the head. His bell got rung hard. It's easy to say what you think a fighter can or can't do or how bad he's hurt, but unless it's you in the ring, you just don't know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywlet1_MQus

He ducked for cover, then stayed down. Simple as.

Mayorga ducked for cover against Delahoya and because he is a warrior, took the L like one.

Ortiz is a shame to the sport of boxing, he's what 26yr old? The fact of the matter is his short lived fame got to him (Expendables, his dancing etc) he never had the commitment and when he did it showed (Peterson, Berto) but the other times he just plain old didn't show it.

I hope he is done witht he sport not because he doesn't deserve to continue but more so for his own health and safety, he seems somewhat brain damaged recently in his interviews and I don't think I'm the only one who has noticed.

They asked him it looked like he can get back up and he says "I was like 6 (the count) oh ****" lol so he was aware of the count, then he goes on to say it was just a flash knock down, ALL flash knockdowns you can get up from.

I hope he is done with the sport because frankly, I think he already has underlying mental issues. Something is off about him, something rather disturbing that I cannot put a finger on.
