In contrary, is a manipulation and a excuse for not making the fight by offering an unreasonable purse for a fight in order to say then that you didn't offered. You must offer the purses in comparison with similar fighters in similar conditions. Is perfectly fine with me that Gamboa not accept a ridiculous purse and an excuse for Mickey to do it. Stop manipulation man. Do the things in the right way
Funny how you use the money excuse to defend one of your fighters, but if Canelo or anyone else fights for money they're cowards in your eyes.

Also, Canelo showed a LOT of improvement in the Trout fight, compared to the Lopez fight.

It's all good, keep hoping one day your cubanos will get the big money fights they "deserve". first of all when we talk about money you cant pay a fighter millions of dollars if they bring nothing to the table(audience, tv ratings, ticket sales, etc.) So they don't deserve millions and should just take what they are offered and still be happy they're getting paid more than the highest paid MMA fighter, and obviously enough to make a living and support your family. Even "American dream" Lara is making money excuses now. pathetic.

The time for this one has long sense passed. Unless Canelo wants to fight him at 168. Another GBP-TR fight that didn't happen because of Floyd

Man, one of the few things good from the Castros is the sports success. This is true to everyone except Cubans in this continent. The most ranked boxing school in the America's is in cuba. No Mexican, united states, brazil, argentina or any other country has more world champions and gold medals in Olympics than cuba. You guys was luck Cubans boxers didn't came for almost 45 years. Now so many are coming, so please be aside your cowards guys and make path. They will keeping saying your "champions" are coward and defying your guys like Gamboa did. Then they will prove in the ring that Canelo is nothing like Rigo showed to the best boxer of the year. Please wait a few years and see. Now we have 5 world champions and more are coming from the bottom. Finest boxers is a Cuban tradition, like the best rum and cigars.

Loyalty aside, I believe that Money ( actual money not Floyd Mayweather) is the ultimate factor. If Golden Boy can see a great opportunity to get back into the graces of HBO by giving them Nelo for one fight, I could see them take it.
Apologies for the late reply. They were planning to do events Showtime already, it was slowly but surely happening. The bigger fights may have been HBO though. That way their small events could be on Showtime and they could garner the biggest PPVs for HBO. Nothing wrong with pissing off HBO, if you are doing whats right for you. Your internal decisions shouldn't have to go through them. HBO is way too powerful if that is the case.

Anyway, relationships matter more than money, even in business. I would much rather take a slightly lower cut with Showtime and have an ally, than cash out one fight for HBO and have two fair-weather friends

The ones who are implying that Canelo is ducking Lara is not only the 10 only Lara's fan, are the journalist. This week, while articles are supposed to be talking only of Angulo and Canelo, I have read several articles mentioning Lara. Why?. Because everybody except Mexicans recognizes that he is ducking and protected. But be patient. If he continues ducking they will keep asking about Lara. "You can't hide the sun with a finger"

Doesn't matter. Cotto is a free agent and Martinez only has one fight remaining on his HBO contract, which he'll likely fulfill with his mandatory against Rubio. Then he's jumpin' ship.

GBP runs Showtime Boxing so why would they put one of the biggest fights they could make on a rival network? and yes Espinoza is a GBP puppet

so honestly Martinez would have to fight Cotto and probably Golovkin just to fulfill his HBO contract.

I don't care what anybody says but having to beat Cotto and GGG AND he's almost 40 with a bad knee....

I'm a Martinez fan but that's a lot to ask for the old man.
If Martinez has Canelo on the table, he ain't fighting GGG my man.

I doubt HBO will air a Rubio fight. They'll probably refuse to air any Martinez fight other than a Golovkin fight.
