Please don't missundertand my words. MArtinez and Cotto are excellent fighters, but their best moments I believe are in their past. Of course they can make a good fight to Canelo and even win because they are talented, but I believe Lara is more risky at the present for Canelo and that's why he is avoiding him. As I said, I disagree with your assumption that the money is the only factor for avoiding Lara, and his calculations are to fight decent fighters with decent purses and with better probabilities of winning like Cotto, Martinez, angulo instead fighters like Lara more risky. The only problem is his name, he is doing this showing his avoidance to good fighters and this will hunt him for a long time unless Lara be beaten and this be the excuse.

Consider something in favor of Lara. Lara and Canelo have been fighting the same fighters in the last year. Canelo almost lost with Trout and Lara kncked him. Canelo will fight Angulo who by the way lost with Lara. After those coincidences the logical challenger should be Lara, but not. Canelo choose the one to loose.
For you is fine that promoters protect the fighters and manipulate the challenges. For me this is unacceptable, the ring should be the only one who should say who is the best. I want the best fights, not the manipulated fights. Until them the reporters will be asking to Canelo and GB why not the fight and why is avoiding this. This is the consecuence of his attitude and he will be facing this always. Wait and see

There is no way in hell Cotto wins it.

Martinez gonna deform him at 159.

But yes... Floyd would take him at 160 if Miguel passes through Sergio by some miracle.

I'd like you to look within your own criticism of Canelo and apply it to Lara.

You're criticizing Canelo fighting Angulo because Angulo lost to Lara.
Yet you don't criticize Lara for fighting Trout coming off a loss to Canelo?

Lara beat a guy coming off a loss so all of the sudden that earns him the right to fight a big name. But Canelo (coming off a loss himself) doesn't get the same right to pursue a big name fight in Cotto/Martinez if he beats Angulo because Angulo was coming off a loss?

And again where do you believe Canelo is a protected fighter. Again I point to the fact he could have avoided the fight with Trout, but he pulled ranked and took the fight anyway. He also went ahead and fought Floyd Mayweather, when he could have easily said no, I'm not ready. Sort of like Garcia did, but instead he went for it.

While i'd like to see Alvarez Vs Lara, the winner of Cotto / Martinez is a much bigger fight ; with a Cotto fight being the real money spinner.

Either fight is good IMO. A fight Vs Cotto would probably be back down at 154...wonder what weight a Alvarez Vs Martinez fight would be held at though?

Canelo will pull an ODLH, if Cotto wins he'll be more than happy to fight him...
If Martinez wins, he'll be more than happy to fight Victor Ortiz.

Yeah because of that whole HBO not dealing with GB thing. Lets stop pretending the cold-war doesn't exist when we make these hypotheticals.

                      Canelo On The Right Track

Canelo fighting the winner of Cotto-Martinez makes the most sense, while Chavez Jr is getting knocked out by Gennady. Then when Canelo beats Cotto who beats Martinez, then we set the table with Canelo versus Gennady, and that makes for an epic fight that Gennady wins. You can't fault these guys for fighting each other. They are their biggest fights, and it sorts out the division. Quillen won't engage. Andre Ward won't engage.
