Everybody on here seems to think he does. Would be awesome if you provided that source from Fatass.

Its not "on his contract" that he has to fight GGG. He supposedly has one fight remaining on his HBO contract and they're gonna try and force him into fighting GGG in that last fight. But like I said, if a Canelo shot is on the table for him. I'd be willing to bet that he'll go as far as going to court to prevent them from forcing him ingo a GgG fight.

winning or losing shouldn't have anything to do with it
Alvarez can't make JMW properly, so a move up is in order
if Cotto won, he'd murder Cotto at MW for sure
Martinez is about done, but Alvarez is a slowpoke, so there's doubt
would still favor Alvarez to beat Martinez at MW though

It's funny, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Polish, Filipino, people can go out and support their fighters. Heck Maidana has 8K Argentines coming to Vegas for his fight, but the poor Cubans who have a decent size population in Florida can't come out and support their fighters? 2 million people of Cuban decent living in Florida and you can't get a stadium with 10K people in it?
In 2004 or 2005 there's was an event in the miami arena and it was packed, Casamayor-seda, back in 2012 at the doubletree hotel they showcase Barthelemy and Socarras along with other Cubans and the place was packed too, so we seldom travel to watch any sport event but you bring it to South Florida and we will come, just count the numbers when Jose Fernandez pitch in the stadium and when he doesn't...

Thanks for the information, of course is easier to support an athlete if you don't have to pay for it...

Cotta was afraid of canelo. He lost to Trout and Canelo beat and drpped Trout. He preferred less money to fight Martinez because he thinks Martinez is still a bit injured from the one round beating he got from chavez. Cotto, win or lose do not hide this time.

The same of Mickey Garcia vs Gamboa. Your assumption that a lara fight won't get enough money is an excuse for ducking.
Then the question is. Why to fight garndpa's if you can get decent money also with Lara and get respect as well?. Unless Lara be beaten in the near future his shadow will come every time Canelo make an interview and everybody will be asking why he is afraid of Lara. Why don't get the respect to clean your name as another hyped fighter like Donaire was?
                  he lost to molina, smartazz.

Sure, take the easier route. Maybe is the fact that most cubans are racist and believe the gamboas and rigos once supportet the Revolution and the great Fidel ż
