Comments Thread For: David Tua Refuses To Help Klitschko in Leapai Camp

David Tua has turned down a lucrative offer from world heavyweight boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko to be a sparring partner for his looming title clash with Alex Leapai.

Tua told the Courier Mail newspaper in Australia that he "didn't want to help anyone beat a "Samoan brother".

Leapai is a Samoan-bron fighter who learned his trade in Australia.

He fights Klitschko in Oberhausen, Germany, on April 26.

Tua and Leapai are similar physical specimens, the key factor in Klitschko sounding out Tua.

Tua's a class act, it's no secret that he could use the money.

    Respect.

Depressing just seeing the state of world heavyweight boxing. Wladimir could win this fight without sparring. He just needs to turn up in shape.

Well at least its a bit healthy here in the UK with Chisora and Fury digging trenches.

You take Haye - overblown cruiserweight he was - out of the equation, who really has Wlad fought since Corrie Sanders and Brewster beat him? Tony Thompson probably the best, maybe Chagaev was worthy too.

Wach (best win Tye Fields), Pianeta (best win Botha), Mormech (*groan* really?), Povetkin (cruiserweight), Rahman (after TKO3 to James "fat and old" Toney), Ray Austin (only 1 credible opponent prior to WK and that was a D), man you go down the list and it's EMBARRASSING.

What a **** stain on heavyweight boxing this reign has become. He just avoids danger until it turns up in a t-shirt with his head ripped off and he *has* to face it and even then it had a broken toe.

Don't be so over dramatic. All your points are not new and have been addressed countless of times. Why voice these biased opinions in a obscure thread about sparring partners.

Just log off and stay off, you won't be missed.

A real champ fights the best in his division and doesn't bow down to the likes of the WBO. Unless he opted for this fight willingly which he probably did looking at his track record.

When Wlad had to fight the best- the Haye and Povetkin debacles were the result and they are far from Elite level fighters. It takes total zeros like Wach for Wlad to look good.

Wlad is a fake. Somebody needs to knock this chump out sooner rather than later.

A class act because he doesn't want to "help someone beat a Samoan brother"? Can only imagine if other groups said the same, the outcry.

If he gave up that title morons like you would be whining about how somebody needs to unify the titles. You guys are a joke. Wlad is doing what hes supposed to do as an atg hw champ on an atg hw run. There will always be haters. The dude just shut out and dropped the #2 guy in the division 4 times. Wladimir is master class and you losers who try and discredit him know it. What a joke. You being upset and delusional about wlads skills and accomplishments just make you transparent.

True huh? So haye and povetkin were just average wins because they were just cruiserweights? Thats what the guy said, basically. They have been pulverizing legit hw contenders and had one loss between them but yea, they suck. Huh.

You morons never cease to amaze me.
