If it's a matter of him being 18 and having sex with his "underage" high school girlfriend, that's an example of how the law is pretty ****ed up in how it labels kids "sex offenders". It's clearly not the same as pedophilia, but the law chooses to treat it the same way. Pretty awful considering what the label of "sex offender" can do to ruin somebody's life.

Hopefully that's what it is. Obviously if he did something truly vile with a child, he's the lowest scum on Earth, but it doesn't sound quite that way.
