Wonder if he gets a ppv percentage if it succeeds.

I could see this happening. Take the smaller purse and bank on popularity and take mad money home. Close to sell out and i know quite a few buying this just cause its canelo.

But oh well thats his money not mine so im just excited for the fight

I was under the assumption that it was a flat fee.

He better be getting a % of the gate and PPV.

I wonder after paying taxes (up to 40%), sanctioning fees (5%), manager, trainer, training costs, sparring partners, flights, hotels, miscellaneous - how much of their purses do fighters actually see.

For example, Mijares, is a name, and he's getting 90k, after all the above - how much will he take home?

He's a name but a faded name. He hasn't been relevant since Vic Ko'd him way back in 2008.

Very very very few boxers make 1.25 mill per fight, let alone more than that. They are all getting good pay days.

It's Canelo's first ppv you have to see what he draws before you can throw large guarantees at him. It's proven what mayweather draws so the can offer him record breaking guarantees upfront. There are a lot more costs for ppv fights then a regular televised show. Canelo will receive a TON more but you have too see what he draws 1st...

Santa Cruz getting that bill gates money, looks like we should have a cure for lupus very soon then.

Exactly, do the math bro. 40% taxes, 10% trainer, 3% cutman, manager?, advisor. promoter? bottom line is they are seeing 30-40% of that purse, its are hard life and hard world. Image the guys on non televised making abut 5k, do that math. These guys spar for weeks, punish themselves, only the top fighters get decent purses. That is why I cant hate when they start talking about getting money right..
