A) that is not true about Mexicans and Mexican-Americans. The folks from south of the border supported Oscar TILL he fought one of their own in JCC and then they turned on Oscar and are still bitter to this day. It is like a local team getting support in their hometown compared to someone out of state. Loyalty runs deep. B) Dulorme is half Puerto Rican but most IMPORTANTLY, he has lived there since he was 3 years old and in integrated into the island culture and therefore, one of them. Dulorme was born and raised in the Carolina, Puerto Rico, his father is of French decent from the island of Saint Martin. His family later briefly moved to the Dominican Republic before eventually settling back in Puerto Rico when he was 3 years old.

By that logic they should support Danny then,he may never face another Puerto Rican in his entire career.I still don't understand why it is too late for him to try too adopt their culture now,giving that as of right now he maybe the very best fighter of Puerto Rican heritage it would seemed that they would be more inclined to accept him.

Seems a little like this whole Puerto Rican thing is more of a marketing plan set up by his team. I dont know, maybe he really is proud of being Puerto Rican. But its extremely easy to imagine his managing team/promoter advising him to take advantage of his roots and tap into the Puerto Rican market, which is one of the major markets. Either way I believe there is different levels of pride and who knows how much he really cares about his Puerto Rican heritage, but he clearly did not stay close to his roots and does not even speak Spanish. Will the more national/cultural Puerto Rican people support him at the level he want$ them to just because he waves a Puerto Rican flag around at a press conference? Stay tuned...
