Comments Thread For: Angulo Vows To Surprise Everyone With His Performance

BoxingScene.com recently spoke to Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo who is just days away from his pay-per-view showdown against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Angulo has been training in the Bay Area alongside champions and former champions such as Andre Ward, Amir Khan and Andre Berto under the tutelage of Virgil Hunter. He said that the family atmosphere that Hunter has created has been a benefit to all of the fighters.

I really hope we do get to see the best Alfredo Angulo ever and that the fight is greater then expected.

This fight is de la hoya vs vargas all over again, with canelo controlling the fight in the center of the ring, and angulo controlling the fight against the ropes....with a slightly different outcome..angulo is a very durable fighter with alot of tenacity, and will be in prime shape, while canelo has never really been in a dog fight....the skills are pretty much even, speed a slight edge to canelo, power definately to angulo...there are so many questions to be answered about canelos toughness,2 mores days baby!!

My official prediction:canelo puts on a spectacular performance in a knockdown dragout against a better then ever perro,in a fight of the year candidate...canelo tko in 11 rounds..

note:iam a huge angulo fan and i believe he has more then a punchers chance in this fight, and will be rooting for the perro come saturday night!! Woof woof

I still feel as if Angulo would be better under Garcia.

A lot of people are still on the Alvarez hype train and forget how tough Angulo is.

Angulo has been to war. Canelo is counting on it. On the ropes or in the middle, Canelo is counting on the Kirkland KO, the Lara disfigurement, the countless punches that Angulo walks into. Having said that. Canelo has never been to war. Floyd slapped him around a little, and he had a few reluctant victims, but that was hardly war. Maybe Angulo can get to him a little, disfigure him a little, but I don't think he can win a decision, unless his surprise is better defense.

Seeing the all access and seing how angulo is using the the conditioning coach I think he is going to work canelo over. He will definitely will have the power and stamina edge to win a war vs canelo. Angulo ko8

Obviously Perro will have to take big shots early but if he can get his bodywork done like he did against Lara then he could have a big chance at overtaking Saul later in the fight where Canelo usually wanes
