Comments Thread For: Erislandy Lara is Eyed For Molina vs. Charlo Winner

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised BoxingScene.com that he would like to match WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs) against the winner of this Saturday's fight between IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos Molina (22-5-2, 6KOs) and undefeated Jermall Charlo (17-0, 13KOs).

Schaefer would like Lara to stay busy with an interim-fight and then potentially face the Molina-Charlo winner in the fall.

Hopefully Molina wins so Lara doesn't have to sit out for much longer. I doubt he would face Charlo.

Lara and Molina rematch would settle the score. It was a close fight so a rematch would make the most sense.

Good, keep Lara fighting this level of opposition. I don't want to see his running ass on a PPV card.

They know Molina gonna school this Charlo kid and want to hold him back by making him fight Lara because that will eliminate one of the two biggest threat to Canelo. Its okay because either one schools Canelo.

Carlos Molina aint stopping till he gets all 4 straps plus Ring magazine belt. You will still be whining how hes boring because its not like youve boxed to know ***** about the slick skills he brings and how far hes come from 7 amateur fights.

I'm picking Molina to win unless Charlo has some hidden weapon that completely baffles Molina. Molina's got that physical and mental toughness to go 10 rounds with James Kirkland, nullify his offense, and be up on the scorecards before that lame ending. I know Molina's got it; I'd like to think Charlo has it too but he's unknown.
