Not walking face first into punches = being a runner

GBP is using the same type of marketing scheme for Lara as HBO is using for GGG. First they hd Lara call him out, then when GGG said no, they started running with it.
GBP isn't doing **** for Lara. The 'most feared' title came from the fans, not the promoter. GBP will never hype up Lara as long as Canelo is around.

I think GBP is doing what they can. I don't think any promotional company will heavily invest in hyping Lara to the US public given his nationality, language barrier, and fighting style.

A Canelo fight would be ideal. I agree they are going to wait a while. Even when they finally do it you can bet it will be in Texas with open scoring, which will hurt Lara the way it did Trout.

Lara is a very good and skilled fighter. I agree with a lot of people that say he gives anyone at 154 problems.

And I'd hate to call him overrated because he really isnt. But the way some people refer to him is crazy.

He aint no Rigo or Floyd. And he gets tagged and trapped way too much for me to call him TOO slick.

It's a marketing ploy to truly get his name out there. The guy is signed with Al Haymon he'll have no problem getting fights.

He's fought Williams, Molina, Trout, Angulo, and Vanes how does that equate to not get quality fights? He's received every opportunity to fight the best at 154 and prove he's above the competition ,and with the exception of the Trout fight he's failed to produce a truly dominant performance.

Obviously he wants the Canelo fight and he's starting to market his brand more aggressively to ensure he can get the fight.

Because he's a boring runner. Runners are high risk, low reward. Mayweather doesn't want him because Lara will ruin his PPV marketability. Why would you blame Canelo for avoiding such guy when millionaire Floyd himself don't want him?

I don't blame people for disliking Lara's style. I've never been a big fan of Landy myself, even when he was knocking people out. But the Angulo fight made me like him a lot more. Lara rose from the canvass twice to smash Perro into submission. What's always bothered me most about Landy is his tendency towards inactivity. It cost him the win in the Molina fight.

This "runner" bull**** comes from people that, frankly, don't know WTF they're talking about. How did Alfredo get to look like the Elephant Man if Landy was "running"? If every fighter fought the same way, it would get real boring real quick. I'd probably stop watching the sport.

Lara and his fans say this but it's not true. GGG already had a fight set. GGG would not have any trouble beating Lara in my opinion and I'm sure he will fight him for any reasonable offer. Lara has a loss and draws on his record and he came close to losing to Angulo. He is a good fighter and a sharp puncher but he is not a guy that everyone is afraid to fight. GGG is the guy most fighters want no part of. Lara does not generate lots of money so he is high risk low reward.
