If the IBF abide by their own rules then if Porter doesn't fight Brook in June then he will he stripped.

You would hope that it will go that way or Brook takes another pass

Depends if Porter signs to make a voluntary defence. Then, they'd likely grant him an extension, and, should he lose, the wait for Brook continues.

He gets his shot at the IBF next, so i don't blame him for taking this fight. Pretty sensible.

If more problems arrive with the IBF fight with Porter (or maybe someone else?), then Brook should just look at a different route and start getting some good names/big fights on his resume.

It was either fight nobody and wait to face Porter or take a nothing fight in between.

            Why can't people understand that?

He only has until April 20th to have a voluntary apparently

Nope. Because he's a new champion. So he has until April 20th to fight someone. Because on that day he will receive a letter from the IBF telling him to initiate negotiations with Brook.

If a deal cannot be made within 30 days (or 45), it will go to purse bids.

It would be completely idiotic by Brook to fight someone good right now. That ship has sailed.

That's what I've been saying. It's pretty simple logic.

I haven't said anything about Brook's upcoming opponent. I simply said that he could wait a while longer if Porter comes to an arrangement with the IBF for a voluntary defence. What you say is true, but sanctioning bodies are known to digress from the written rule
