    The Philly Shell

The philly shell is a defense you can eat alot of punches with if you don't know to use it if you're new to it, im not saying i cant pull it of, im just saying y'all might be not able to.

I really love this guard, lead arm for shoulder roll, has excellent body protection and great in hiding your chin, i'm not a boxer or any but i'm comfortable with this guard when shadowboxing in front of my mirror

I do like it because it allows you to keep your eyes on your opponent. And it is also good for counter punching.

Yeah, if your coach doesn't like it or doesn't know how to teach it then it is going to be hard for you to use...

There's also some holes in it (as any defense.) If you don't know how to use your shoulder you're susceptible to some loopy punches. Hooks can land hard.

That goes for any defense but you are right, the shell is harder because you need proper timing, speed and you need to be really used to it.
