The Klitschko's are another example. They fight most of their fights in Germany with few exceptions, i.e. a big Povetkin fight in Russia.

Abraham is another draw in Germany who fought outside Germany only for bigger fights such as the super six.
    Robert Stieglitz is another guy.
The list goes on and on. Some guys make more money in their home countries than they do in the US.

And while to you because you live in the US, a Ward/GGG fight would be big, it doesn't mean a Sturm fight vs GGG fight in Germany would not be huge.
Im sorry but its hard for me to follow with contradictory statements like this. You basically pointed out Klitsch, Abraham, and Stieglitz fighting outside of Germany for bigger fights in an argument you base that Germany has the big fights. And I didnt say a fight between Sturm and GGG couldnt bring in money, I merely stated that theres no way a fight between Sturm and GGG is bigger than a fight between Ward and GGG. And thats just fact man. Youre basically comparing PPV to domestic.

Golovkin is the one who claimed that he didn't want to fight at 168 yet, whenever Ward's name was brought up. But then he changed his tune real quick for Chavez Jr.

It's the very definition of a cherry pick.

      • This sounds like sour g****s from Hunter and Ward, because they can't get a fight with Chavez as long as he is with Goosen.

And I don't get how anyone can call GGG a cherry picker or a ducker defending Ward, when that's all Ward does.

Where did Golovkin respond to Chavez mentioning his name? I haven't seen any comment from him in weeks and when I did there was no mention of Chavez that I recall.

So you think Floyd is a cherrypick for ggg at 154, where Floyd is 2x, reigning, lineal champ? Ok. But once again dumba$$, Floyd is the biggest money and exposure around. So for a prize that big they may risk pissing off Hbo or get them to work together as a one off
Of course Floyd is a cherry picker when it comes to who he'll fight at 54. He's a welterweight. Just like GGG is a middleweight who selective about who he fights at super middleweight. Difference is, I've never heard say anybody from 40-54 can get it, like GGG said about 54-68. Then tuck his tail like a lil b1tch when THE SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT came calling. That's the difference.......DUMBASS!!!!!!

We're you're wrong is in the fact you believe having p4p status gives you power, but it no longer does. Sometimes as has been the case with many fighters you have to swallow your pride, accept the terms and get in the ring and fight. Ward keeps pricing himself out, and keeps being inactive.

It's part of the reason I'm no longer a fan.
How can you say Stevenson has more financial power? I mean Im not sure but how are you sure? And no matter how you cut it, if youre a boxer and want to be the best, as do most athletes that dedicate their life to a sport, then you must beat the best. So they can make money fighting lesser opposition and be satisfied in that, but if they want to beat the top dogs then they need to agree to the top dogs terms and prove themselves as the best.

And i completely disagree with your statement that Froch and Bute had more pull after the Super 6. Ward was on top of the world after that tourney so there was absolutely no reason he needed to bow down to Frochs demands for a rematch. Froch got handled easily on the world stage, if he really wanted his rematch and to get his face back he wouldve agreed to whatever terms were made.

And like ive stated before, I am not happy with Wards inactivity as of recently either. But he is still #2 until someone steps up to dethrone him.

                  • Bob arum said he got a call from K2 about a fight with chavez while Andy Lee was rumored as Golovkins next opponent. The plan was obviously to fight Chavez after Lee.

If they can make that fight happen, why shouldn't they take it. Chavez-GGG is a PPV fight and more $$$$. Ward-GGG is an HBO fight...And if Ward had to chose a fight between GGG and Chavez. He would choose Chavez, let's be serious. And that would be the right move. It wouldn't mean Ward was ducking GGG.

And I fully expect GGG to move back to 160 after Chavez if Martinez is ready to step up.

Not being ready for a bigger, #2 p4p guy one division up is hardly a cherrypick, not that Ward ever sent a contract. Ward certainly never did that, he fought #10 p4p guy who came down a full division.

Remember Ward saying he can beat a Klitscko? Why no fight, what gives?
