Right? And it aint like he's calling out a bum, he's calling out the other supposed "top" of the division. The man is calling out "the best" and the geniuses that are the Alvarezians want to make it an issue of him looking for a pay day. That is what bugs me. Duck if your gunna duck, your a grown man you can do what you want. But don't walk around calling yourself the best when the other man who calls himself the best calls you out and you look the other way.

At this point I think Lara is doing a better job putting his name out there and promoting and marketing himself then GBP.

          He's not ducking.

It's not as if he's taking a soft touch here. He's rebuilding from his loss to Mayweather, taking a tough, but beatable guy in Angulo. In case you're new to boxing, this is what guys do after they lose the first time. Cotto fought Jennings after his loss to Margarito, DLH fought Cooley after his loss to Trinidad, Trinidad fought Cherifi after his Hopkins etc etc.

Lara will get his chance, it's not as if Canelo said he doesn't plan on fighting him. He's just not in his immediate radar right now.

Canelo is far from being a ducker.
The guy went after Trout, when everyone in his camp was telling him not too. He went after Mayweather the number 1 p4p fighter, when he could have easily said, I'll pass, I'm not ready yet, or waited for that fight down the road. After all Danny Garcia did this.

People just see what they want to see.

canelo and his people are clearly avoiding lara. canelo had a tough battle with trout. the fight was a lot closer than the cards suggested. lara won almost every round against him and dropped him. before trout canelo fought some weak opposition. josesito lopez is a 140 fighter blown up to 154. matthew hatton and ryan rhodes arent world class.if people gave mayweather stick for fight mosley when he was 38 canelo fought him when he was 40 lol. lara has fought the best is 154 division. martiroysan, paul williams, carlos molina and angulo. canelo turned down lara and molina because they where akward fighters and chose angulo because hes a limited as a boxer. he comes forward and fights gets hit alot so golden boy and showtime can cash in because both molina and lara's style cant sell ppv. golden boy know first hand that lara is dangerous and it would be a career ender if lara beats him.

Nah I think he's just not interested at this point. Mayweather made sense because of the $$$. Trout made sense because he's not as good as his fans think/say he is. Lara is that good and Canelo knows it. I don't see them fighting anytime soon. Not till Canelo at least gets another loss or two and his drawing power diminishes.

Yes, in hindsight one could draw that conclusion, at the time though you know this wasn't true. Trout was thought to be that good.

And what makes you think Lara is that good?
Because he beat Paul Williams who was already on his way down? Because he beat a Trout, that even you admitted wasn't really that good?
Because he struggled to beat Vanes and Molina?
Because he went life and death with Angulo?

Or do you think he's that good because you don't like Canelo?

I never hear RIGO talk too much about him being the best. That guy is humble and to me the best boxer, better than MAYWEATHER . Faster, better defence ,footwork, he is the best pure boxer and don't need to be screaming like a dog for boxing fans to know it. And I do believe that CANELO will fight LARA .What would all LARA fans will say when finally LARA gets his shot at CANELO. What all the ducking comments will turn to. OHH CANELO didn't have no choice. OHH this OHH that. CANELO is 23 and has plenty of time to fight all the guys that matter. To me MAYWEATHER chose to fight CANELO at a perfect time. CANELO had a lot of followers and little experience. That's why LARA what's to fight CANELO right now too. If I was CANELO. I would fight a couple more fights . Either COTTO,Molina , and Kirkland and then, LARA . Because I consider LARA the best right now of all of them. And I don't think it would take many years to do that. So I hope I don't hear the excuse of ...ohhhhh LARA was old and that's why CANELO beat him....... CANELO is 23. Let's not forget that. And I like GAMBOA but I don't know why he doesn't fight. He is 32 already and not gettin any younger. I don't think I has too much longer in the boxing business . Maybe he will blame all MEXICANS for him not fighting anybody. Miguel Vasquez is there I think he should go for it.

Lara is no good if he gets put down by and average fighter like Angulo.

This comment is why most fighters could give a s**t about what the fans think. The Canelo/ Trout fight happened because Alvarez demanded the fight no one at GBP or on his team wanted the fight. It was a dangerous fight Trout was the unanimous no 1 guy at 154, a least around these parts, and was deemed the new Floyd killer who could beat Mayeweather after he finished off Alvarez. To the surpsie of most Canelo was able to outbox Trout and now in hindsight the fight made sense

The truth is Lara is the new Trout to Canelo. He's a lot better than Trout and could possibly beat anyone at 154, but in no way shape or form as dominant a fighter as he's made out to be. Boxing fans are ridicoulus he's avoiding the best yet a great deal of people on this forum have Angulo beating Canelo.
