I guess I wasn't clear enough. When I said who is the best active etc., I meant who is the best actively, as in present time, not all time. Regardless I still think it's Hopkins.

Currently, IMO, it's clearly Hopkins. #1 in his division at 49 years old, beating better guys than Margarito, Mosley, Clottey, Rios IMO. Pac's last best wins was Cotto and Hatton, he never beat Marquez at WW and I didn't see him winning or losing the Bradley fight.

At the same time, maybe people still feel that Pacquiao is currently the best off of that list and I respect that too, but don't agree with it.

Less rounds= less chance of getting caught maybe Manny should try and set that up in a 4 rd fight and he could win 40-36 making him number 1 HW contender but Floyd would then fight Manny win and just sit on his HW ranking claiming he has no idea who Wlad is or that belts collect dust and how Wlad has 3 losses.

The problem is usually the eliminators are 12 rounds.

But, let's say we have 12 1 minute rounds.

then Pac is on his way.

Perhaps then he can fight Mayweather for the heavyweight championship!

They were crushing balls over walls for record breaking distances!
Which naturally, fairly or unfairly raised eyebrows and made people wonder...

Pac did the same thing. Started crushing bigger guys, moving up weights, looking questionable.. Simply put. He was doing the extraordinary. The word is fitting because EXTRA ORDINARY means not normal. THATS why.
This doesn't leave JMM out of that last vicious KO of Pac either, but Pac ran into a counter too, and it was one fight, unlike Pacs dozen or so.
Agreed to all. Hopkins successfully fighting at a championship level at nearly 50 is also extraordinary. Also, we mustn't forget that there are different kinds of PEDs, not just steroids. They affect human performance in different ways, not always in the most obvious fashion.

Lets just forget about Stiverne/Arreola 2 and do this instead for the WBC title.

I wanna see Stiverne-Andre Ward though in truth.

                  or Arreola-Andre Ward.

I know they are size mismatches and all, but life isn't fair.

39 year old men don't usually get better, they get worse. JMM looked and performed better than he ever did versus Pac by a mile. Sure, Manny walked into a perfect counter and got KTFO, but Marquez never even knocked Pacquiao down in over thirty six previous rounds. All of a sudden, at age 39, he manages to knock Manny down twice in the same fight, the second by spectacular fashion. I would say that is all extraordinary. Of course, Pac's career has also been extraordinary. lol
