Yeah, they both should've lost - one for quitting while being clearly ahead and Burns for putting on such a bad performance. I don't see how anyone can see that as a legit win - just a "thank u for quitting so I can go on as a paper champ another day".

his inside fighting when he had the burst of counter punches in the first round was class....

How was he a paper champ before that fight? He beat the 3rd ranked LW for the title and made 2 title defenses against top 10 opponents going into that fight.

The division is the weakest in the sport and he got a gift in his last fight, and a pathetic performance before that. In other words, Burns was never the champ and he's had gifts to keep his title. Paper champ all day - please don't pretend he was some kind of a great fighter.

That's not what you said. You said "Please quit so I can keep my paper title." referring to the Gonzalez fight. Going into that fight he wasn't a paper champ. And whether the division is weak is meaningless. If you beat the best fighters in your division and win a title you are legit. He had 3 wins over ranked opponents.

He didn't become a paper champ until the Beltran robbery.

So you just admitted he's a paper champ. Thanks for wasting my time.

Aside of his amazing defensive skills I was most impressed with his mental composure. Every time he got hit he shrugged it off like it was nothing and responded with hard shots of his own, stayed composed in front of thousands of screaming fans, picked his shots extremely well, didn't complain about the **** ref, didn't panic at all.

Few guys have that toughness, this guy is cold blooded.
I agree, there will be haters tonight but they will die off with each successive fight until the overwhelming majority view him as p4p material. The guy is the real deal and respect to Burns, he isn't a bad boxer at all, he just got shut down. Can you imagine Burns "opening up" and being "himself" against Crawford? He would have gotten eaten alive with counter shots and that jaw would have been snapped in two again.

If they rematch, the result will be even worse for Burns, he should still come over to the states and fight other names, he is certainly world level.
