Broner should have fought Lamont Peterson before moving up to welterweight.

I really agree..I actually thought he should have stayed at 135lb for 1 or 2 more fights..Dude is young and really should have grown into his body..Thing is that's not the checks he was writing with his mouth..

I think his loss to Maidana could be either the wake up call he needed,or the end of a once bright career..It's really all up to him,kid is super talented..He needs to stop messing around and put it together..Against Marco's Broner showed some real heart and grit..So I know he has some dog in him(which I doubted I won't lie)now put the I.Q. behind it,and we have are self a real player..

I like Broner but the guy just wasn't/isn't that good, he would have lost at 140 as well.

Let's look at Broner's young career:

Arguably lost to Quintero but got a gift.
Arguably lost to De Leon but got a gift.
Close fight with Paulie, many had it a draw or one point decision for Broner.
Got dominated and dropped by Maidana.

Not the marks of an elite, future P4P fighter. Broner has always been more Andre Berto than Floyd Mayweather.

Angel is completely right. Broner showed no respect and thought he could walk into 147 and take down a solid fighter.

140 it is then- let Mattysse have a go on him as well.

Funny how everyone is so down on Broner after 1 loss yet Maidana lost to Khan (lol) and several others and he's the man on these forums.

Some fighters are just unfairly hate on this joke of a forum and other fighters are unfairly loved...No logic involved in any of it.

Broner will be back...He just needs to stop ****ing around and focus more on training and staying out of range of big punchers since at 47lbs...It's gonna be hard to him to take huge bombs in the pocket and not go down...He fought an incredibly dumb fight against Maidana.

Broner had a better chance off winning a WW title from Malinaggi than he did from any of the LWW title holders. So I don't think bypassing LWW was the mistake, the mistake was defending the title once he got it ,he would have been off dropping back to 135 and waiting for Garcia and co to move up and then nip in and get a LWW title.

The more I listen to Angel Garcia the more I like him! Couldn't stand him around the First morales fight, but the guy just speaks his opinion, whether you want to hear it or not! He knows his stuff too, very under-appreciated trainer!
