I will hold off on my prediction of this fight until I see how serious Chavez Jr takes Vera this Saturday in his performance. I'd like to see Chavez go in there and blast Vera out of the way in the early rounds.
For now, I will say that at 168, Chavez vs Golovkin is a pretty good fight. 1. Chavez is big and has power, and a good chin but poor defense, 2. GGG has poor defense and we don't know how he would carry his power up 8lbs, and we don't know what his punch resistance is like against the biggest puncher he'd ever face, who he'd be smaller than. 3. GGG/Chavez Jr being first is a lot better for Andre Ward because he'd get the winner coming off the best win of their careers and a possible match up would have more hype than they do now. Lastly, waiting for Chavez to beat Vera, or GGG to beat Lee, while doing nothing, basically pulling a Khan; Ward will sit for a long time dating back to November 2013.
Too bad for Ward every top fighter is taken or booked, Froch/Groves, Chavez/GGG, and Kessler doesn't know what he wants to do. Ward has Stieglitz/Abraham, Bika, Dirrell, left.

i think ward/stieglitz is better then ward/rodriguez. if he beats abraham tommorow i saw bring that fight on. gets ward a "unification" bout so he doesnt have to be so damn inactive

Plus he does want to prove he's the best middleweight so hopefully Serge mans up like the champ he is if he gets by Cotto.
BTW, isn't it ironic that Cotto is seen as a legit, big fight, moving up and fighting the middleweight champ. But two years ago, he wasn't viewed as a legit fight for the welterweight champ moving up to fight him.
As for myself, I've been following this game long enough to have seen a lotta guys come along kickin' the **** outta tomato cans. And when they step it up, they get exposed.
