no that's not what i'm trying to say. people didn't give floyd a pass not just because he missed the catchweight but also because he fought a smaller guy from 2 weights down. the catchweight was somewhat a small equalizer and yet floyd didn't honor it.

that's not really entirely comparable to salido's case. besides, who are these people giving salido a pass? a couple of posters maybe...not enough to cry about it and make a thread.

2 lbs is a much bigger miss at that low of a weight....regardless Salido gets a pass for some because he's not expected to win and was picked exactly for a free title. Floyd was expected to thrash JMM regardless and missing weight was just silly. I don't give either a pass....but that's the rationale I can come up with for it I guess.

Comparing himself to Floyd got him a lot of hate, plus his attitude. Watch Floyd v Maidana and you'll see why he gets so much hate for claiming himself the next Floyd. The "warrior" Maidana is going to get schooled hard and it's going to look easy, making Broners struggling look that much worse in retrospect.
