I would assume the plan after this fight would be to go back down to 160 for Golovkin and try to get a match with Sergio in the fall. Having fought a common opponent (Chavez) would also make the fight bigger.

I know some will say why not fight Ward then? But Chavez and Sergio are much bigger fights than Ward at the moment.
Most importantly Ward would kick his ass.

Why fight the middleweight champion above 160 when you don't have a title? It doesn't make sense. Chavez has trouble making weight but give him 3-4 months and I'm sure he can make 160, he'll take diuretics with masking agents if he has to.

It would be a great fight, but Golovkin doesn't have the skills to hang with "Sugar" Cesar Chavez.

        48 have tried.

        Guess what?

        48 have failed.

Jr isn't making 160 again. Ever.

that's some fuzzy math ya got going there

48 have tried, 45 have failed, 1 succeded (Martinez), 2 got ripped off (Molina, Vera).

Jr plain doesn't have the skills or dedication to beat world class fighters, and even with a 20 lb weight disadvantage GGG destroys Jr

this would be a sick fight. Say what you want about chavez, yes he lacks class and is lazy, but he is a fighter. He doesnt care he will get in and **** with anyone and has a hell of a chin. So props to him. He is the blue collar mans fighter

What I've been saying.... he'll get options off of Golovkin.

I drool at the thought of this fight. Chavez has been pushing for this fight for a while. I love these two, what a war it would be. Chavez Jr is no joke... granite chin and heavy hands, and he gets motivated for these big fights. Excellent PPV right here... Chavez will come out of it beat up badly though. Then again, so would everybody.

I'll be ok with this if it's at 160, if Chavez wants it at 168, then I'd prefer he fights Froch first.
