I'm enjoying the back-and-forth between these two. All the more reason why this fight needs to happen sooner rather than later. Both have been looking dominant lately against respectable opposition, we need to see them against each other to settle who's the better fighter.

The difference is that Kovalev is the pursuer, the chaser, the Alpha.

While Stevenson is being a Diva, acting as if he already has Floyd Mayweather status in Boxing.

I think Kovalev is getting a little too full of himself. Wouldn't be surprised if Adonis lands a big punch that rocks and then finishes off Kovalev.

That's what makes this fight so special - it's a genuine pick-em. OK, you get guys who pull those kinda KO ratios climbing the ranks, but both Sergei and Adonis have continued to do it against titlists and other top ten guys. 4 KOs each in a single year against some of the top names at LHW? 175 got turned on it's head in 2013, it's hard to think of a more profound shake up of a division over such a brief period.

These two guys just have to fight - no-one planned how last year would turn out (cept for the Nov 30 date), and no-one coulda predicted it, but there almost couldn't be a more perfect build up to a fight.

I lean towards Kovalev, but Stevenson has every chance of landing a KO Left counter whilst Sergei is caught up in his relentless assault. There is no fight right now that comes close in terms of excitement and unpredictability - this one just has to happen.

I don't get why everyone is bashing Adonis....He's been talking a little crap but nothing outrageous or out of the ordinary for a top level boxer...Kovalev has been just as ****y (which is fine by me).

I don't mind a little self confidence at all unless it gets to ridiculous levels like with Broner (and I didn't really mind Broner either) but it was funny watching him lose.

I think Hopkins would neutralize Kovalev, but would lose to Adonis.....And Adonis vs Kovalev is a 50/50 fight...Styles make fights.

It's boxing, I don't understand why people care about how nice/mean/arrogant a particular fighter is....They punch each other in the face for a living lol....

Stevenson needs some English grammar lessons. And Kovalev's response reads like it was written by an English teacher. Way too "proper."

He wrote it in Russian...in fact he specifically asks at the end (if you read the full statement by Kovalev...which is considerably longer and juicier than the sanitised version presented in the OP) for someone to provide Stevenson with an accurate and nuanced translation.

It appears he didn't trust his English enough to be sure he got his full meaning accross in all it's rather colourful distain.

Not only that but as part of him(Stevenson) signing his extension for how ever many fight(2-3) deal with HBO, I believe fighting Kovalev is part of the package. He's locked in sometime this year, I'm almost positive. (HBO wants this fight badly)
