Great post. I said something similar in the other thread about this news.I swear to god some folk on this site are dumb as shhhh...if he doesn't sell the house it goes to foreclosure....she's getting evicted one way or another..at least by selling the house they don't lose the whole investment, gets to walk out with dignity instead of at the threat of a marshall and i'm pretty sure that family can use the money and she clearly will not be out on the streets either. Does it suck? Yeah but it's the best and smartest thing that can be done in this situation. If he bought the house 30 years ago and it's in good condition he can fetch a good price for it and considering the litany of family members this guy has to dress and feed that will at least help.
The only thing I disagree with you on is the "dressing and feeding" a "litany" of family members. They're adults, aren't they? And if there are any kids, their parents are responsible for them. If Pernell wants to allow them to leach off him, that's his business, but I wouldn't want to see it.Comment

Bahahaha! I hadn't even thought of that! I'll tell ya, bro, I don't know what "Pea" cleared in his career, but it was almost certainly not enough to take care of that pack of losers. People think a couple of million bucks is all the money in the world. It's not. It can dry up real quick. It's always the freeloading type that think, "Hey, man, you got it like that."Comment

Here's a quote from the ABC News website:
On Wednesday, a Norfolk General District Court judge ruled in Whitaker’s favor, ordering Novella Whitaker and two other children and their families also living in the home to leave the house by March 31.
Whitaker now intends to sell the house to retain the $150,000 of equity in the home to recoup $18,000 in overdue taxes he paid on the building on behalf of his mother and two siblings living there, his lawyer said.

It would seem that way, but I don't know if he was referring to his mother. It could be that Pernell was tired of taking care of, not only her, but his freeloading siblings. If he was such a scumbag, I doubt he would've housed them (or at least his mother) for thirty years.Comment

It was a beautiful moment because he's debt free. The taxes and mortgages on that house are now paid off and he can let his siblings and NFL contract nephew take care of their mother/grandmother which they have failed to do for the past 30 years.when asked if it is a sad moment in his life that he evicted his mother he replys was "No, its a beautiful moment"
