      • I see that Khan is benefiting from the ripple effect that Mayweather caused by having his name attached to Khan's over the past few months.

        • Why does it seem like many posters are surprised Khan can get so much money, Khan, Hatton, Calzaghe, Naseem, didn't need to come to America to become millionaires. As to the fight with Mayweather, Khan really did think he could beat Mayweather, but all is not lost looks like he going to get paid the same fighting Brook. I guess now it can't be said that Khan wanted to cash in on the Mayweather ticket.

          • Why in the world would he take this fight? It would make absolutely no sense for Khan to take this fight at this time. It's all risk and absolutely no reward. Beating Brook will get him no more credibility in the boxing world than he has currently. Brook is just looking to fight tomatoe cans and protect that 0 until he can land that one big payday against Khan, and Khan should not give him that payday until Brook has earned it. Anyone who claims that one more loss for Khan would take away this potential Brook fight is unequivocally false and actually quite ignorant. The money will always be there, no reason to take the fight until the W would actually mean something.

When considering money, yes, but that money will still be there in 2 years. They are both UK fighters so the people there want to see the two go toe to toe, and they will still want to see it down the road even if Khan loses a few more fights to big names.

Let's say Khan takes it and wins, what does that do for him right now? Virtually nothing, Brook isn't an elite big name fighter in the US right now so it wouldn't add anything for Khan in the way of credible, big-name Ws. But what if he lost? That could potentially spell the end of his career.

But if instead he waited it out for Brook to get some huge victories and beat some top names, then beating someone like that would gain him more respect and losing to someone like that wouldn't be as damaging to his reputation.

So the smartest strategic decision would be to wait it out until Brook is an international star and then take that fight. Or if Brook never gets there Khan could spend the next 3 years fighting the top fighters, he could even lose to some of them, and he would still have an opportunity to go back home and fight Brook after losing 1 or 2 big fights then retire immediately after.

Along with the money, he gets a solid footing in the WW division beating someone who's rated higher than him and a mandatory position in line for Porter.

                    • He should take it. Good money, entertaining but winnable fight.
