I don't get the hate on this fight being made. Marquez is fighting a guy who is much bigger and stronger than him. I actually think that Alvarado can win this fight. It is a really winnable fight. Marquez no longer has his legs, and he does not have the reach advantage. A combination of boxing/brawling from Alvarado could get him a UD win. Remember guys Bradley had Marquez a bit hurt in their fight. Alvarado can at least do the same (I believe he is a better puncher than even Brandon Rios though nowhere near as good as Ruslan).

Sure he avoided Ruslan. Is he afraid? This is a man who fought Manny 4 times, and moved up to fight Floyd. He knows it is a dangerous fight that could hurt his bottom line. I think he ducked Ruslan because it puts the other fights in jeopardy. If Ruslan punches in the same neighborhood as Pacquiao then Marquez would beat him in a bloody fight. Except for his power (lol thats a big exception) Ruslan's style is actually all wrong for Marquez. A come forward, average foot speed fighter, with little lateral movement is tailor made for Marquez. The big question is can Marquez avoid Ruslan's punches? If he gets hit does he get stopped? It is definitely one of my dream fights. But come on he is making the best $$$ decision.

In my opinion both fights are about the same level of difficulty for Marquez. Of course with Ruslan there is a greater chance he gets koed. Alvarado at this stage could also outbox Marquez if he keeps Marquez guessing and at a distance. Ruslan would be a bloody fight for him, but if he can withstand the power then he can win a UD or stop Ruslan himself.

You're full of ****. Marquez one punch KO was his Hail Mary. He never knocks anyone out with one shot, he caught Pac careless and stumbling forward at the end of the round. Marquez was knocked down the round prior, was behind on all scorecards, bloodied and out of gas. Sets traps!!! Lol, you read too many blogs. He never set traps in 3 previous Pacquiao fights. He never set traps against Mayweather or Bradley. He won't fight Manny again because he knows he can't get lucky like that again. He trained his azz off and juiced with no drug testing in place, and was still out of gas after 6 rounds. If he makes the mistake of fighting Pacquiao again, he won't finish the fight.

I take it you've never seen all of their fights? Marquez was countering the hell out of Manny in their first and 3rd fights.

Anyways - Alvarado is stuck trying to be slicker than he is. Marquez is going to beat him up on the inside and counter him with right hands sort of like the Diaz fight
