What is this, straight from Pacquiao's camp? I hate how some people try to discredit Marquez for that knockout and I hate all of this "Marquez was desperate, isn't that smart, isn't a good puncher, and he got lucky" spin you're putting on it. You can say what you want but the fight speaks for itself.

This is the way I've always seen that fight. I don't even think he is top 5 welterweight.

I think their styles make for a good fight and they're both a little more stiff than some of the other guys in the division so they can both look really good and I think both have a chance. But it's a joke that Alvarado gets this fight instead of Provodnikov. Marquez just chose Alvarado because he thinks his style is better suited for him, obvious duck.

Since when is JMM being bloodied and hurt an indication he needs to get lucky to win? Watch PAC/ Marquez 1&2, Marquez/ Diaz, Marquez/ Katsidis and you might feel differently .

Pacquiao had one huge round in the 5th and was up by a round or two the fight was still in the balance at the time of the KO. Marquez has never been Ko'd and Pacquiao has never been able to take him out so your making absurd assumptions.

Marquez trained for the ko and wasn't interested in winning a decision. Check out the ko in round 3 where Marquez starts throwing body shots in order to set up the overhand right he knocked him down with. He threw that body shot around 3 consecutive times before feinting the body shot only to go upstairs while Pacquiao covered for the body shot. The ko punch was clearly something they worked on they landed the exact same punch during sparring and it's on video it's pretty obvious this wasn't luck. It's been almost two years and yet people are still labeling the outcome as pure luck

And finally how many fighter consistently ko elite fighters with one punch. Other than Pacquiao/ Hatton and Williams/Martinez recently who's accomplished that??Many big punchers fighting right now but you have to land the perfect punch to ko an elite fighter to accomplish that.

I believe MIKE can make a great performance,MIKE is a tough mother****er and he wants redemption after PROVODNIKOV's fight obviously,MIKE has ever fought his heart out in his fights and a lot of comments about he is a quitter after PROV's fight are simply a SHAME and RIDICOLOUS;ALVARADO IS A TOUGH ONE! MIKE is a brawler but he can also boxe very well,i really like this fight. Obviously JMM avoided PROVODNIKOV but that doesn't mean nothing about how good can be this fight!!!

For those criticizing marquez on why he chose Alvarado and not Provo. Well, it's simple they're looking at this fight as a tune up fight. That's the whole reason for fighting Alvarado. Easy work for Marquez.
