The good old days indeed. I miss being a kid. Well, not totally but some parts like the one you mentioned. I'm glad to be my own man, but those get-togethers for boxing events were so exciting. Even if the fight was boring like De La Hoya-Mayweather it's still exciting to watch live.

As an adult, Marcos Maidana's fights are, by far, the most exciting for me. His style is perfect for watching live.

Went over to my cousins house I had no idea who Mosley was, and could care less about the fight. I remember screaming my head off the last round lol. Became a huge Oscar fan even though he lost and for years his fights were the only ones I watched.
No one knew who Mosley was until he fought Oscar. Then he became known as one of Oscar's opponents.

I watched a bunch of fights with my dad in which I was too young to remember who was fighting. But two fights I remember clearly seeing live via the black box was in 96-97 when I watched DLH vs Chavez Sr I and Tyson-Holyfield II the one where Tyson bit his ear. I really remember watching boxing as a interested fan, instead of just a kid watching what his dad was watching, at 9 years old.

I watched DLH-Trinidad in 1999 in its entirety I was 10 years old, it was fun, a really big event and it was the talk of the neighborhood. I rooted for Trinidad, it was pretty funny, then at the end of the fight I became an Oscar fan Most people around me rooted for Trinidad, I guess because PR and DR are so close so Dominicans would rather root for the Puerto Rican over the Mexican, but in the end every one thought DLH won.

As someone young I got into boxing when I was sixteen. The first full fight I watched live was Pacquiao-Margarito.

Yeahhh, I get you man... I know. It was like an event in itself getting together, I looked forward to those nights. I still do don't get me wrong but I'm talking about the family (uncles, cousins, etc) getting together, eating, talking... It was just a good time.

LOL no doubt bro. Nothing like a good war on a Saturday night.

I miss the 90s... it was special. The non-social media era. Internet was just getting started... It was all more magical as fruity as that may sound lol. The whole vibe and culture was more substantial in a way. I don't know how to pinpoint it and describe it exactly... It lasted up until the early 2000s as well.
