If you were Maidanas head coach, what would your gameplan be to beat floyd?

    My plan

Round 1 go straight out and punch Floyd in the balls.. Then do it again and lose points... Then try and turn it into a dogfight with a ball-wrecked Floyd

      Very simple. Pressure!

Get in, GET IN! then Break out fast as you can at a angle while fire off overhands. You cant stay in the pocket cause mayweather knows how to nullify your work, but if you break out fast at angle you give him a new look he aint ready for and you can land.

the only shot marcos has to beat floyd is to punch with floyd, and hope to land something big in the middle of an exchange

the problem is that floyd's handspeed is unreal and once he's thrown his shots, his hands are so quickly back into a defensive posture or he's moved his body out of the way of your punches that you'd need to have insane handspeed yourself to catch him while he's still open

maidana's only shot is if Floyd gets old overnight and his handspeed isn't what it was vs Canelo, and he's able to punch with floyd and land something in an exchange

maidana's handspeed is non-existant and his footwork is terrible so those early 14:1 underdog vegas lines are pretty accurate

once floyd adapts and adjusts, night night.
Relentless pressure and going to he body early, throwing combinations, come to the fight with margarito-esque stamina, cut off the ring, and swing for the fences.

You know it actually occured to me that one of his opponents might try and injure his eye. A punch to the eye early on (first 3 rounds), another 1 or 2 punches in to the eye in the next 3 rounds (4-6). If he protects that eye, hit the other one. Once an eye shuts it's fight over.

cut off the ring and punches in bunches utilize the jab and consistently throwing the jab and actually following up, go all out that's the only chance he has at Mayweather. Sure he looked great against Broner but Mayweather actually has defense not just defense, the best in the biz.

                Realistically though, Mayweather all day.

So in essence, what some of you are saying is Marcos should get himself disqualified by getting dirty 'cause he has no other choice?

Might as well say there ain't a blueprint for beating Floyd.

                  .

To make an ugly fight and keep the pressure constantly. Bully him.

Maidana should study that Hatton fight and come in with that kind of mentality early on, cuz Floyd's reach is gonna be an issue. Maidana has shown some aspect of adjusting during fights when he fought Karass, Lopez, and Broner. I don't know if he's become a better boxer or if his level of opposition just wasn't decent. He surprised me when he set up his left hooks against Broner by pointing the jab to his chest. That's what I would worry about if I were Floyd. Not only that, but Maidana doesn't have to plant his feet to generate power cuz his hands are heavy. If he even catches Floyd while he's moving lateral it could still do damage. Mayweather will do what he does best all he has to do is mix it up and cruise to a UD.
