I guess I have a progressive point of view on this topic. I have zero issues with the dude getting a title shot. IMO he's going to beat the brakes off of Salido to prove he's worthy of the shot. Mind you Salido himself doesn't deserve to be where he is because he's a drug cheat. But I digress... Did Lebron James need to go to Duke before he took over the NBA? Did he have to toil in the D League or behind a mediocre Vet on the Cavs? The answer there is no. And it's the same here.

I have been asking this same question for week.s Sure hd did great things in the olympics and prior to becoming pro, but there is absolutely no justification, zero, for getting right to the front of the line for a title shot in his seceond pro fight.

Well put it this way. Lomo won the WBO continental belt from the guy who had possession of it. If Lomo did not fight the guy he beat (Jose Ramirez), that guy could have gotten a shot at Salido instead.

I agree. And its not like he beat some no name pro with a a 2-14 record. He beat a very live opponent, coming off a good win against Rey Bautista, and he toyed with him, outclassed him, and knocked him out in entertaining fashion.

This guy is like Rigo, he was ready the second he turned pro. Only difference is Lomachenko is a lot more entertaining.

Salido is a nice tune-up fight for Loma.

well he did beat the wbo international champ (pretty easily too)...so doesn't that kind of put him into the position for a shot at the wbo world champ?

if he beats him or is at least competitive, then yeah.

He has probably the best amateur record of all time.

Is he fighting for a world title? Or is it an alphabetti spaghetti title which is basically an interim world title?

I say the former. I have no problem with it.

He saw a chance to shoot for the stars, Arum and Salido saw a chance to make a buck or two. Makes sense all round
