Flabby? He looks like a fighter who was in excellent condition here. Just ask Floyd. You don't keep up with a fighter like Floyd without being in excellent condition. In fact, Cotto's fitness has gone to another level compared to earlier in his career, but overall, he never had poor conditioning. He is a professional who acts like it when it comes to preparing for a fight. Unlike James Toney, Chavez Sr. Rid**** Bowe. I could go on and on. This is boxing, not body building.

Why though?
He looked shredded against Manny because he was drained. Again, if you know anything about the science of boxing, you should know that. The same exact thing happened to Canelo. You could even see his adams apple. Smh. He looked pale and emaciated in the face. When you lose weight in your face, that's BAD! His people should've known better for signing that BS contract for a catch-weight. The guy didn't have a pound of fat to lose. He lost MUSCLE!

I just don't think he wants to get down to 147. It's a shame too. I never liked him at 54 and certainly not 60. There's some great fights at WW for him. I highly doubt he'll ever go back down though. He's been pretty clear that JMW is his division now.

but he didn't keep up with floyd. he faded and he couldn't sustain the pressure because he wasn't in great shape.

Nope.
Nope. He has never been "ripped" for any fight. He's not built that way but trust me, he is always in great condition. Against Floyd, through 8-9 rounds, he was fighting his fight. I give Floyd credit for adjusting to what Cotto was doing to him. It had nothing to do with Cotto's condition. He was in excellent shape. Look at Canelo's build for instance. He is a very muscular fighter. He is what you can call, "ripped". Look at Chavez Sr's build. He didn't have a very ripped build, but he was always in great condition. It's all about science kid. Just because a fighter isn't ripped, doesn't mean they aren't in great condition. That is a complete misconception. Look at Chris Arreola 's build. He's flabby and unpleasant to the eye, but guess what? He has excellent stamina. Get me?
