He's been cherry picking his entire career. Scared as sh.it to fight Matthysse and ends up lucking out with a thumb to the eye.

Ive said this before and ill say it again:

Danny has had quite a few tough fights and one tune up doesnt hurt. These fighters take alot of damage and you wont ask them how they are once theyre done with their career so they have the right to take easy fights.

Now Danny Garcia is being positioned to take Cotto's place as P.R's next superstar and right fully so. To do that he has to connect with his P.R fanbase more and better because he mainly identifies himself as an American fighter and has trouble with Spanish and never fought there. So hes fighting their to build a "core" fan base who are a boxing nation. Canelo didnt have the most challenging career yet hes a superstar so imagine Garcia.

Fighting a fringe contender in Herrera he'll look good making an impression and him being Mexican also helps make it an event.

It's a gimme fight to get the PR fans on his side, he is building his own path which I think is clever.
