People will be surprised how big of a size difference there is. And size does matter. Martinez has the reach, the speed, the height, the power, and the chin. People act like Cotto will just swarm Martinez and beat him down. What's to stop Martinez from just beating Cotto down?

Cotto is 33 and will be giving up three inches of height (listed 5'10" to 5'7") and six inches reach (73" to 67"). He's a smaller man than Martinez, but Martinez isn't used to "fighting big," either, as he's generally been the little guy at 160 even though he's really more of a natural junior middleweight.

Cotto will bring hand speed, foot speed, defense, an inside game, an outside game that Martinez has never had to deal with. I realize your banking on Cotto being shop worn, but I dont see it yet. Great fighters throughout history have been able to have many tough fights throughout their careers and maintain a certain level of greatness, like a Duran, like a Gomez. Cotto will win this fight for his legacy which he truly cares about.
What's up with these dudes?
If he did, he wouldn't ask for a catch weight.

Cotto certainly won't be the best middleweight Martinez has fought. Are people suggesting that Cotto will be better as a middleweight than Martinez last several opponents? Cotto would probably lose to every fighter Martinez has fought at middleweight. Maybe he beats one or two of them. The only concern is the knee of Martinez. What kind of knee injury is still causing this much pain ten months on?
