Anthony Mundine has confirmed former IBF welterweight world champion Joshua Clottey as his next opponent, but expects to keep bleeding money as he chases his world title dream.

Mundine, the No 4 ranked contender for Floyd Mayweather's WBA super welterweight title, will fight 36-year-old New York-based Ghanaian Clottey on April 2 at Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

Clottey (37-4, 22 KOs) beat Zab Judah in August 2008 to win the vacant IBF title, but vacated it the following April without making a defence.

Don't know what to think of this fight. I'd like to see Clottey come back and do something big again but what has taken so long.

interesting fight on paper, but SMH if Mundine thinks he can realistically get Canelo or Cotto

**I heard Mundine has also tried for Lara

If Clottey does lose, I'll be convinced he was actually payed off this time.

Surprised to hear him claim he lost all that money on the Mosley fight. If he knew there was no financial reward in it then I don't know why he arranged the fight as it's not as if it got him any closer to a big fight or a title. Like every other Mundine fight it was just about trying to play the risk/reward game and get paid, so if it backfired then that's great to hear.

I hope clottey comes back and does something big. I actually like his style. Quick hands, good power, throws good combinations and has impeccable defense.
