So Vitali leading a revolution in Ukraine!

So 35 people died today, again it's been bloodshed over who's leading the country. The corrupted russiandealing politicians or the people on the streets right now fighting, with Vitali in the lead.

So I created this thread to see if there's anybody out there with pictures, videos or anything surrounding this mess. Is Vitali in life threatening danger by being the leading man in charge?

Much respect to Vitali for fighting for his countrymen!

Vitali is running for Presidency next year. He can turn this country around and towards Europe rather than Russia.

www.rt.com has some real footage of the police brutality. People getting carried out on their backs. It's ugly down there. It's real ugly.

Another REAL ugly video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DxkDiAcSF8#t=138 - Not for the feinted hearted. It's ****ED.

Looks like it's heading towards civil war. Seeing some stuff on twitter about live ammo being used and more fatalities.

The situation in Ukraine is very much less black and white than a fight for freedom against a corrupt leadership. Nonetheless, I think that Vitali probably believes he's doing the best for his country and fellow Ukrainians, despite the long term effects on the country being less certain.

I'm half-greek and as many of my family and friends could attest, stronger ties with Europe (the original cause of the protests) aren't always the best thing for the people of a country, however appealingly they are presented.

Ukraine has become a sort of battlefield for powerful international econmic and political interests, who probably have little concern for the people of the country.

Whether these protests lead to long term improvements in the lot of the Ukrainian people only time will tell, but I suspect, as usual, that it will make little difference - the previous government was corrupt, this government is corrupt and I'm sure the next one will also be....only the faces at the top will change.

Great post. I think this could also be the start of another proxy war in that other countries start backing or are already backing the rebels.

This isn't one sided. The police are going to return fire when getting shot at unfortunately innocent people may get hurt when in crowds of 100s. People armed and wearing balaclavas aren't peaceful protesters they're looking for bloodshed.
