That would be nice but it can't be any of those. Mayweather fights strictly on PPV, it's no way any of the guys you named do more than 500,000 buys. They are good fighters but only known to boxing loyalist. We have to realize this might be entertainment that we pay for and yes we want our money's worth when we buy these fights but this is also a job for the fighters and they want the biggest paycheck they can make too.

Then why did Mayweather choose to fight Guerrero when Martinez was offering an 80/20 split at 150? A fight against Martinez would have sold better than the Guerrero fight.

The truth is this no-fanbase argument is just one of the escape routes Floyd fans usher their hero down to avoid threats. If this route can't be used, they'll use the Floyd-doesn't-do-business-with-Bob Arum one. If neither of those can be used it's 'Floyd is too light to be fighting this guy'. If none of the 3 routes can be used, Floyd goes on vacation.
