It's hard to say, but Stevenson can probably make more by just fighting BHop, or a BHop - Shumenov winner. Kovalev's running into budgeting problems fighting Cedric Agnew ffs (he's had to sacrifice some of his own purse to get that fight made).

I don't blame Stevenson for it, don't blame Haymon, it'll just be really s#it if the fight doesn't get made. We'll just have to wait and see, but the early comments from Stevenson suggest that at least there's the possibility that he's gonna price himself out.

I can understand why they wouldn't want to make the fight straight away but it will be a shame if they don't. stevenson and Kovalev are two of my favs right now and would love to see them get it on sooner rather than later. But haymon taking on stevenson does not bode well.

Stevenson sounds like he thinks having Haymon manage him makes him worth twice the money he was before. He is still the same fighter and he is going to price himself out of some good fights. I doubt there will be a Stevenson-Kovalev fight now because Kovelev won't like Stevenson getting much more money than he will get.

Steveson-Kovalev would make Stevenson, Kovalev, and Haymon ( and the network) so much money.... so whats the problem here?

If this fight doesn't get made, I don't think Haymon is to blame here, only the fighters. It's such a natural matchup, and if not made, only serves to damage the sport and the fighters respective careers. Who else are they going to fight in the long run?
