Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum believes Floyd Mayweather Jr. has taken serious liberties with Amir Khan and wasted away months of the British boxer's career.

Khan, inactive since last June's tough win over Julio Diaz, has been sitting back waiting for Mayweather to announce his opponent for May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In order to land the Mayweather fight, Khan withdrew from a planned December title clash with then IBF champion Devon Alexander.

I dont think majority of elite fighters would tell Floyd to piss of because of the money they can make. Khan has reached the ceiling on his potential and I think he knows it. He knows its now or never with Floyd. I cant see Khan beating any top fighters and if he does I see him gassing out or being hurt multiple times where people will think he is an unworthy opponent in the future.

Its being dragged out far too long but Khan only has himself to blame. He could have taken an interim fight but he knows as much as everyone that there's a good chance he wouldnt make it out of the fight.

Exactly. Heck he could have re-matched Diaz, Peterson or taken the Alexander fight. Anything to prove he belonged in the ring with Mayweather. Instead he sat around thinking his popularity in England alone would merit him a shot at Mayweather.

NO ONE told Khan to skip his fight with Alexander. He probably could have won that fight. If he did he would be in a better position in getting a fight with Floyd.
