Without a doubt triple g but that's for a casual fan. A person who enjoys boxing for the technical stand point would say Ward. I believe both are appealing in their own right. .. Ward with his defensive style and Golovkin for in offensive style. Both bring two different dynamics of the sport.
A more intriguing question would be who's style is more effective and would that style work against more top tier opponents.
Though I don't believe Golovkin has been tested by a true top tier opponent, his skill offensively is undeniable but how would that skill do against a truly skilled defensive boxer?
What a crock of ****. Goddamn boxing hipsters crack me up!
Right now it's 120 to 15 Golovkin lol....The funny thing is that this pole only measures a small sample of relatively hardcore boxing fans, which is where you'll find fans of the "slick defense-oriented, economical backfoot fighters" aka boxing hipsters who consider themselves boxing connoisseurs and think they're the only ones who appreciate the sweet science. These people would typically vote for Ward's style over GGG's. If this poll were on Espn more casuals would be voting for Gennady.
And those who post on boxing forums are considered hardcore boxing fans, so if it's really 121 to 6 for hardcore/big boxing fans, I wonder what it's like for casuals. Wow, Ward has some thinking to do. The fans have spoken, Ward is just too boring to cut it.
It's nice to see that GGG will be receiving his first big payday against JC Chavez Jr.
Andre Ward made MUCH more money for his last fight on HBO than GGG, but his ratings are not better so it wasn't really fair.
ward is a far superior fighter whose deal was based on Herschman bringing him over from Showtime. GGG is much more appealing to the TV audience for sure.
Ward's "fight" with Kessler was de****able. Sorry, that's not "art", that's not "fighting", it's not "boxing" either. ****ing disgusting. And he'll do that anytime he thinks there's a chance he might get KO'd. Kessler rocked his ass once or twice ... how many times did he hurt Kessler? ZERO. Not even when he was using his head butt. I hate Andre Ward. Gold medalist my ass.
