Not even close pWill had the whole division shook apart from margarito. Pwill looked damn near unbeatable in his prime with a high work rate freakish height iron chin . One time nearly got blasted by Soto karrass

Williams was a tall aggressive southpaw that would out work opponents. He scored most of his knockouts by wearing fighters down.

Thurman is right handed and appears to have more power but a lower work rate. Not much similarity in my opinion unless Mayweather avoids Thurman too, then we will have a connection.

Thurman is one of the best welterweights in a strong welterweight division. he has a good chance to beat any welterweight. He is avoided because he is good and a dangerous puncher. He really doesn't fight much like Williams but they are both fighters that many did not want to fight. I think he will get his chance to fight some of the better welterweights soon. Al Hayman and Schaefer will get him a title fight.

paulie and the ghost are fighters who are looking at the finish line. they want too make as much money as possible before they call it quits. they are not looking too fight fighter's that they are more popular than. porter is looking for a big payday as well, he wants too use the title too get him a million dollar payday. Thurman doesn't provide that yet. and too answer your other question, no he isn't as avoided as Williams. pacquiao, cotto, floyd, mosley all swerved Williams.
